Quarterback Nick Starkel threw for nearly 500 yards in the Belk Bowl, but Texas A&M gave up 55 points and lost to Wake Forest. Christian Kirk carried the load for the Aggies on offense, scoring three touchdowns.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Nick Starkel passed for 499 yards but was unable to connect on a final series as Texas A&M was unable to mount a late rally and fell, 55-52, to Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl.

The Aggies (7-6) reached midfield on their final drive. However, they could get no further as Starkel passes on third and fourth down fell incomplete.

Starkel threw four touchdown passes, including three to junior Christian Kirk, to lead a charge back from an early 31-14 deficit.
