ATLANTA — Alabama could have the most intriguing quarterback competition in college football.

Or there might be no competition at all.

That depends on whether incumbent starter Jalen Hurts opts to transfer rather than compete with Tua Tagovailoa, who rallied the Tide to a come-from-behind victory over Georgia in last season’s national championship game.

Alabama is 26-2 and reached two national championship games with Hurts as the starter.
