Stingy Aggie run defense faces tough test against Benny Snell, Kentucky

The A&M run defense currently ranks sixth in the nation and has been stout even against some of the nation's most potent rushing attacks. The unit will face another big test Saturday as Benny Snell and company come to town.

An ancient Chinese proverb teaches: “The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step.” That’s true wisdom, indeed.

So is a new Texas A&M philosophy that the journey for 100 yards can be slowed by a single defense with a huge chip on its shoulder. A&M’s defense once stopped the run like a drain stopped water. From 2013-2016 A&M’s run defense was among the nation’s weakest.

But this year the Aggies rank sixth in the nation in run defense.
