Aggies focused on self-imposed high standard in opener vs. Texas State

When asked about playing an overmatched opponent in what is essentially a glorified practice, Texas A&M football coach Jimbo Fisher gave a standard answer. Or, more to the point, he said A&M must play to its standards in the season-opener against Texas State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Kyle Field.

“Your opponent doesn’t matter,” Fisher said. “What matters is yourself. Who you play doesn’t matter. I know people don’t believe that.
