After the longest night of their lives, after five hours, seven overtimes, 197 plays and three moments in which they thought they had a win, the LSU football team boarded the flight home one by one. The players’ backs were killing them. They couldn’t feel their legs. Their quarterback had just nearly collapsed in the locker room. All they wanted was to get home.
