There is a theory that nothing ever stays the same. Everything is either getting better or worse. That certainly appears to be the case with college football.

Of course, Arkansas’ consecutive 2-10 finishes, Kansas’ back-to-back 3-9 records and Texas’ perpetual state of being “back” would challenge that theory.

Still, the fact remains that only six Power 5 teams and major independents had duplicate records in 2018 and 2019.
