Kennedy's return, Turner steal show in A&M blowout

Ray Turner scored 20 points again, but the real story in the No. 19 Aggies' easy, 83-58 win over Southern was the return of Head Coach Billy Kennedy to the bench as A&M moved to 2-0 and on to MSG in New York.

COLLEGE STATION — The lights in Reed Arena dimmed, as they always do.

Texas A&M's pregame introduction sequence lit the scoreboard hanging above the court, proclaiming, "100 years of Aggie basketball." It ran through a montage of highlights interspersed with shots of the team's bigger names, as it always does. But when the starting lineups were announced, fans in the building were treated to a surprise.
