New SEC rules delay spring football, confirm that uncertainty is the new reality

Spring football drills in Aggieland were slated to begin in just a matter of days, but Friday's new SEC guidelines will delay drills until at least April 15. With more questions than answers, dealing with the unknown is the new reality of college athletics.

Texas A&M Athletic Director Ross Bjork on Friday afternoon expressed his support for a Southeastern Conference decision to delay all athletic activity until April 15 in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

On Thursday, the SEC had delayed all competition until March 30. As more information regarding the pandemic was gathered, the conference opted to further postpone all athletic activity. That includes games, practices, meetings and individual workouts on campus facilities.
