I miss the tourney, but I miss filling out the bracket with my dad more

March Madness is much more than a three-week slate of wild college basketball games and bracket challenges at work. The NCAA Tournament means so much to so many, and missing the 2020 bracket means a bit more to The Athletic's Brendan Marks.

For a college basketball writer, this next sentence might sound sacrilegious:

I was OK not filling out a bracket this year.

Now don’t get me wrong. The NCAA Tournament is my everything and has been for as long as I can remember. An all-too-familiar scene in elementary school was when teachers would roll in their AV carts, flip off the lights and let Roy Williams and Mike Krzyzewski serve as substitute teachers. Turns out, hoops before homework was apt career advice.
