A return to prominence: Examining the 2022 in-state linebacker class

The talent around Texas high school football is apparently and always has been. However, in recent years, the skill at linebacker has taken a step back, but with a deep crop of talent in the class of 2022, that is about to change.

“When will the state of Texas produce a good crop of linebackers?”

It’s been one of the more common questions in recruiting for the past five years or so in the Lone Star State. While Texas A&M is prepared to start two linebackers from DFW in 2020, it’s been a legitimate ask from fans across the state.

Early on, it looks like the class of 2022 is going to do what they can to answer that question.
