When Texas A&M hired Jim Schlossnagle last summer, Aggie baseball fans knew this wouldn’t be an overnight turnaround, especially given some of the positional deficiencies in the roster. The head coach’s self-admitted impatience sent him right to work to rebuild the team as quickly as possible through the transfer portal as well as some late high school additions.

Still, no one expected this year’s squad to be without some warts.
