OMAHA, Neb. — Texas A&M coach Jim Schlossnagle’s decision to start right-handed pitcher Nathan Dettmer on four days rest wasn’t just about beating Notre Dame.

It was also about getting in the best situation to beat Oklahoma, which A&M faces at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday.

Oklahoma hits extremely well from the left side, so Schlossnagle prefers to start a left-hander against the Sooners.

Freshman left-hander Ryan Prager (1-3) will likely get the start.
