2024 Hattiesburg (MS) Oak Grove standout quarterback AJ Maddox‍ committed to Texas A&M over finalists Penn State and Alabama. 

At 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Maddox is regarded as one of the top signal callers in the southeast. As a junior, Maddox completed 67 percent of his passes, threw for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns with only three interceptions. Maddox also rushed for 432 yards, and he helped Oak Grove to a 10-3 overall record.
