Playing in the gauntlet that is the Southeastern Conference, the season can get late very quickly, which is why Texas A&M's series victory over Ole Miss last weekend was hugely important as the Aggies search for much-needed momentum with seven weeks to play.

Needed that. Had to have it…or at least it felt like you did.

I’ve referenced it a lot in the last couple of weeks, but even with seven conference weekends remaining and a handful of midweeks, the season “can get late early,” as SEC analyst Chris Burke likes to say.

Heading into the weekend, the Aggies and Rebels both desperately needed a series win to get them off the mat.
