Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin has stressed the importance of competition within the team. Here’s a look at what may be the most intense position battles of August camp.

1. Starting quarterback
Over the next month there is going to be a three-way competition between redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel and redshirt sophomores Jameill Showers and Matt Joeckel to be the starter.

After spring drills most believed the decision would come down to Showers and Manziel, but Joeckel is not to be forgotten.
