Legs were tired. Players were dragging.

Texas A&M Coach Kevin Sumlin didn’t necessarily like what he saw during the Thursday evening practice session — the second part of the first two-a-day workouts — but he anticipated it.

A week of football practice in the 100-degree heat of a Brazos Valley August will drain energy from anyone.

“There was a lull, but it was better at the end,” Sumlin said after practice. “(The players) have had to change their structure and it takes a little getting used to.
