Texas A&M’s wide-open quarterback competition appeared to close a bit in Saturday’s team scrimmage at Kyle Field.

Redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel showing off an accurate arm and the ability to improvise was unquestionably the sharpest of the four quarterbacks in Coach Kevin Sumlin’s rapid-fire offense on a scorching August day in which freshman running back Trey Williams and defensive end Damontre Moore also put on stellar performances.
