Texas A&M's Friday in Omaha featured Evan Aschenbeck receiving an all-time honor and an open practice at Bellevue East High School. The Aggies will now turn their attention to the Florida Gators as lefty Justin Lamkin gets the start for the Maroon & White on Saturday.

OMAHA, Neb. — There was never a doubt.

A week ago, when Texas A&M reliever Evan Aschenbeck was named a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, there was no question who the rightful winner should be.

The answer became clear at a Friday morning press conference at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.

“I just want to thank everybody that has been a part of this,” Aschenbeck said as he accepted the trophy.
