DALLAS — Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin isn’t beloved outside of Oxford, but on Monday, hearts were with him.

Kiffin’s father, NFL coaching great Monte Kiffin, passed away last Thursday at the age of 84.

Lane seemed to be holding back emotion as he started his press conference at Southeastern Conference Media Days talking about his father.

“His first rule that he’d put on the chalkboard back in the day was to show up,” Lane said.
