DALLAS — Before talking about his own team, Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz opened his press conference on Tuesday at SEC Media Days with a plea for the late Mississippi State coach Mike Leach to be allowed in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Hall of Fame rules require coaches to have a minimum .600 winning percentage for induction. Leach, who passed away on Dec. 22, 2022, was 158-107 in his career at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State.
