Pitching and defense.

You better be able to do both to win at a high level in the game of baseball, regardless of the age or skill of the players on the field.

Yes, hitting is fun. Having an elite offensive club sells tickets because, quite frankly, home runs are awesome.

However, for as exciting and conversational as it is, hitting is fickle by nature.

It comes and goes. It's fleeting.
