Aggies make program, KenPom history in 11-point victory over Auburn

During Tuesday's Senior Night matchup against Auburn, the 22nd-ranked Aggies made program history by defeating their first AP No. 1 opponent, and they did it in double-digit fashion. Texas A&M's upset victory is truly in rarified air.

For the first time in their 113-year history, Texas A&M men’s basketball defeated the AP No. 1 team in the country. Previously 0-9 against such opponents, the Aggies broke the curse on one of the most memorable nights at Reed Arena.

The Aggies were 1-16 against AP top-two opponents entering Tuesday. Coincidentally, they won their last matchup with an AP top-two opponent on Dexter Dennis’ Senior Night on March 4, 2023, over No. 2 Alabama.
