Baseball Thoughts: Inconsistent play continues to beat Texas A&M

As has been the case for much of the season, Texas A&M again failed to play a complete game across all phases this weekend in a series loss to Kentucky at Blue Bell Park. With a 1-8 SEC record and just 21 conference games remaining, A&M's postseason outlook is bleak, at best.

If it isn't one thing, it's another.

That, for me, has been the best way to describe this Texas A&M baseball season so far. After being in the offensive doldrums for the vast majority of this campaign, the bats came to life over the weekend and had their most productive three-game stretch of the season. Just as that happens, the starting rotation, which had been nothing short of fantastic this spring, gave up 20 earned runs in 12 total innings vs. Kentucky.
