Former Samford guard Josh Holloway has announced his commitment to Texas A&M.

After entering the transfer portal last Saturday with teammates Jaden Brownell and Riley Allenspach, Holloway follows head coach Bucky McMillan to College Station.

At 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds, Holloway averaged 7.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals as a sophomore for the Bulldogs. He shot 44.1 percent from the field, 28.1 percent from 3-point range and 69.6 percent at the free throw line.

The Memphis native was recently crowned the 2024-25 Southern Conference’s Sixth Man of the Year and made the 2024-25 SoCon’s All-Defensive team.

In his two years at Samford, Holloway finished inside the top 20 in the SoCon in total assists, assists per game and steal percentage each year. Last season, he started 11 games and has played 68 games in his collegiate career.

Holloway isn’t a volume shooter, but he’s an elite defender who is a key piece of McMillan’s chaotic defensive scheme and will bring his two valuable years of “Bucky Ball” experience.

He arrives in Aggieland with two years of eligibility remaining.
