So Moss was sick all week. And we kept getting him up and down, up and down and did not have someone ready when he went in just in case.

Michael Earley recaps Texas A&M's weekend at UFCU Disch-Falk Field
It was a far-from-ideal weekend for Michael Earley's Aggies as they dropped all three games to No. 1 Texas in Austin. On Monday's edition of TexAgs Live, the head coach joined the show to detail where the Maroon & White fell short and preview a midweek test hosting Lamar.
Key notes from Michael Earley interview
- We just didn't do enough to win, which is unfortunate. We did a lot of things well in a tough environment against a good team, but we were missing a swing or a few every game to turn it our direction, which is tough. We didn't take advantage of the opportunities we had, and that's the reason we didn't come out on top.
- I did not get a lot of sleep. It’s devastating. Any loss is tough. Woke up today, and it's like, “Let’s get going.” Let’s get on to Tuesday. We still have a season to play and things we have to do.
- With the bunt defense, it's somewhat of a read, so Blake Binderup can break in or come out. On the bunt, the sign was to go to third. It wouldn't have been bad if Ben Royo bunted to first, and it was soft. It wasn't, especially on that turf. It was a few different plays we didn't execute.
- I thought yesterday was better than the other days. It was OK. I think we are better than how we performed. We have been on such a heater. There are so many ebbs and flows with hitting. I think we are better than we were at the plate. I don't think it was bad. They pitched really well. It wasn’t good enough.
- Ryan Prager was awesome. I felt like he was trending in that direction. That is exactly how I expected him to pitch. For us, keeping him on track will be big for us. Our starting pitching has been a strong point the entire season.
- I read the report on Gavin Kash. After reading it, it made it even worse, to be honest with you. Clearly, someone said something to him running off the field. He said something back. They warned him. The report said they warned him and warned him again. Then, they got together and said, “You know what? Let’s go ahead and throw him out.” It’s just ridiculous. I am not the only one who thought it was ridiculous; even the coaches on the other side did.
- I couldn't have appealed the ejection. It said in the report that Will Gasparino said something, but his message was not audible to the umpire. I’m sure he didn't just run by and say, “Hello.” It’s just crazy. Let the players decide the game. That’s not why we lost yesterday, but... I want my guys to play with an edge. Sometimes you cross that edge. If someone says something to you, you are going to say something back. It’s A&M vs. Texas. Just let us play. Stuff like that is completely unnecessary.
- Weston Moss is sick. He has been sick all week. We thought it was an appendix thing. He went to the hospital on Wednesday. It’s a stomach-deal. Did it factor in? Maybe. He definitely didn't look like himself. He is a competitor and was able to play. He is our best guy out of the bullpen, so I am always going to go to him, especially if he thinks he can play. He just didn't have it on Sunday. I think he will have it moving forward. The other guys that came in for us did a nice job.
- Kaiden Wilson and Caden McCoy have my trust. Wilson, what an amazing job he did this weekend, and the same for McCoy. He did great. That was the first time he had thrown since tearing his meniscus while warming up at Arkansas. I am really proud of them. Those guys on the mound gave us a chance to win.
- With Caden Sorrell, it has played out perfectly. With Arkansas, we were able to play him in the middle game. We will see how the matchups go moving forward. With a left-hander on the mound, I don't necessarily have a right-handed DH that I am very comfortable with. His reps will definitely pick up, and this weekend was a good test. Next weekend, he will probably play his first back-to-back game in the outfield. He seems good to me, but we’re still being cautious. He showed how good he is as an outfielder. I think people may have forgotten that. He is a complete player.
- We have been tested all year. We have never not been ready to play. We have a good group of guys, and they will be ready and excited to play on Tuesday. Lamar is a really good baseball team. We will turn all our attention to them. It’s another tough battle, but we will be up for it.
