ATLANTA — Recent history shows that LSU quarterbacks make significant strides in their second year as a starter.

Like, huge strides. Like that stride on a certain bronze stiff-arm trophy.

Joe Burrow passed for 2,894 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2018 — his first season as LSU’s starter.

The next season, he passed for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns en route to winning the Heisman Trophy.

In 2022, Jayden Daniels passed for 2,913 yards and 17 touchdowns.
