Six Texas A&M players named to 2025 preseason All-SEC teams
On Friday, the Southeastern Conference released its preseason all-conference selections and predicted order of finish as voted on by the league’s media.
Texas A&M is represented by six players across the three teams, headlined by first-team senior running back Le’Veon Moss.
Additionally, the Aggies were picked to finish eighth in Mike Elko’s second season in Aggieland. A year ago, the media projected A&M to come in ninth, and with a 5-3 league record, the Maroon & White finished eighth in the standings.
As for individual standouts, Moss was on his way to leading the SEC in rushing before suffering a season-ending knee injury early in the game at South Carolina, which caused him to miss A&M’s final four contests. Earning All-SEC second-team honors as a junior in 2024, Moss ran for 765 yards on 121 carries with 10 touchdowns, adding 10 catches as a receiver for 141 additional yards.
Adam Cushing’s offensive line is thought to be a strength of Elko’s 2025 squad as the Aggies return their top seven Maroon Goons from a year ago. With experience and continuity up front, tackle senior Trey Zuhn III (second-team), graduate guard Ar’maj Reed-Adams (second-team), junior guard Chase Bisontis (third-team) lead the way in the eyes of the media this offseason.
Defensively, junior linebacker Taurean York enters his second year as the captain of Jay Bateman’s unit. A Freshman All-American in 2023, No. 21 has accumulated 156 total tackles, 74 solo stops, 18 TFLs and 5.5 sacks to go along with an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery through 26 games as an Aggie. York appears on the third-team this preseason.
In the secondary, senior defensive back Will Lee III earned second-team All-SEC accolades in 2024, his first year as an Aggie. The transfer from Kansas State ranked fifth in the SEC with 10 pass breakups in 2024. The preseason second-teamer had 42 total tackles last year and two interceptions, including a pick-six vs. Texas.
Elko and the Aggies officially begin the 2025 campaign on Aug. 30 vs. UTSA at Kyle Field.
