On Monday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland as Texas A&M racked up preseason SEC honors in football, landed a key 2026 commitment and saw a pair of former baseball players make waves on the mound, including Tyler Naquin’s professional pitching debut.
Football
Six Texas A&M players earned Preseason All-SEC honors as voted on by the media at SEC Media Days.
Running back Le’Veon Moss headlined the group as a first-team selection after rushing for 765 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games last season. Offensive linemen Ar’maj Reed-Adams, Trey Zuhn III and Chase Bisontis were recognized for helping A&M finish second in the SEC in rushing.
On defense, cornerback Will Lee III earned second-team honors after recording 10 pass breakups and a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown against Texas. Linebacker Taurean York, a team captain, was named to the third team after leading the Aggies with 82 tackles.
Football Recruiting
A&M landed a verbal commitment from 2026 safety Tylan Wilson out of Mississippi. Wilson chose the Aggies over Clemson, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Alabama and others.
Baseball
Former Texas A&M left-hander Brooks Raley returned to the big leagues Friday after a stint on the injured list. The southpaw pitched one inning, striking out two without allowing a hit.
Tyler Naquin, a former Texas A&M outfielder, is climbing through the minors — this time as a pitcher. He threw two no-hit innings for the Cleveland Guardians’ High-A affiliate, striking out two batters with the Lake County Captains on Saturday.
