Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Nabou
- I like Mark Nabou Jr. He was the starting center last year, then got hurt in the Notre Dame game. Another one of those significant injuries last year. I think Kolinu'u Faaiu did great at center, but I think they would've been better with Nabou.
- You said 325 pounds? I thought he was about 340. He's a huge dude. I guess you're huge at 325, though.
- I think they could be one of the best offensive lines. Not saying they will because Alabama is supposed to have a really good line, but they could be the best line in the SEC. If not, they're in the area code. Nabou just makes them better. My favorite memory was him scoring that touchdown against LSU two years ago.
- Maybe he would've made a difference in those 4th-and-short situations. Unfortunately, we don't get to know players the way we used to back in the day. Hopefully, he has a nasty streak. He's probably a really nice kid. I don't know that much about him. I haven't seen him play enough, unfortunately. The year before, he started almost every game at guard.
- The better the individuals are, the better the line is. It's true they have to be good together. You want your best five out there, and I think Nabou is one of those guys.
- If you have a little speed at receiver… I’d love to see those safeties play 10 to 15 yards deep instead of crowding the line of scrimmage, which I think A&M saw a lot of last year.
