Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Crownover
- What was it, A&M allowed the fourth fewest sacks last year?
- I think there's this thought or narrative that Demetrius Crownover might be the least proven guy on the line. You could say Mark Nabou Jr., since he didn't play much last year. But if Crownover is your least proven guy, you've already proven how good your offensive line is.
- Crownover’s character is as good as his stature. Those Crownover boys were raised really well. I remember Jimbo Fisher always said Crownover would be an NFL player. That's another thing that tells you about him.
- Some guys, when the coach wants you to change positions, are hesitant or defiant. Crownover embraced it. It's more fun to play football when you get the ball. But he embraced the move to the offensive line and embraced what it took to play, which means he put on a lot of muscle and weight. I bet he wasn't 300 pounds in high school. He has probably put on about 70 pounds.
- Think of a really good movie, and there's an all-star cast, then you go, “Oh, yeah! That guy’s in it, too!”
