Looking back on what was learned, loved and loathed in Texas A&M’s 42-24 college football season-opening victory over UTSA on Saturday:

Learned

A&M is more explosive: Last season, the Aggies had  51 plays from scrimmage that gained 20 yards or more. They had nine against UTSA. That doesn’t include yardage on returns.

Return game is improved: A year ago, the Aggies were ranked sixth in the SEC in kickoff returns (20.53 yards) and last in punt returns (3.87).
