ND fell to #24, not #21.

Irish, goodbye.
Howdy, top 10.
Thank you, Tyler Buchner.
With a euphoric, cathartic and instant-classic road victory over then-No. 8 Notre Dame on Saturday night, the Fightin’ Texas Aggies are up to No. 10 in the latest Associated Press poll.
Entering Week 4 (and an open date), Mike Elko and Texas A&M are also ranked No. 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
Desperately searching for an end to a 14-game road losing streak vs. ranked opponents that reached back 11 years, Marcel Reed and the Aggies were facing fourth-and-goal from the 11-yard line with just a few ticks left on the clock.
Reed scanned, pumped a fake and then lofted a prayer toward the north end zone with Touchdown Jesus looking on...
...only to have a chorus of “HALLELUJAH” from Aggies everywhere ring out as Nate Boerkircher reeled in his first touchdown in Maroon & White to seal a 41-40 win in South Bend.
One could argue that A&M’s Week 3 triumph at Notre Dame Stadium is the biggest, most impressive victory in college football thus far, and the pollsters seem to agree as the Aggies moved up six spots.
It is the first time A&M is in the top 10 since coming in at No. 10 in Week 10 last season.
The Aggies are one of 11 SEC programs ranked in the AP’s Week 4 poll, along with No. 3 LSU, No. 5 Georgia, No. 8 Texas, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 14 Alabama, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 20 Vanderbilt, No. 22 Auburn and No. 23 Missouri.
Now officially on a well-deserved bye, the Fightin’ Farmers will meet War Eagle on Saturday, Sept. 27, for what figures to be a top-25 showdown at Kyle Field.
Amen to that.
