Cy Falls EDGE Kaden McCarty came to Texas A&M’s camp last summer with one goal on his mind — to earn an offer from Mike Elko and Sean Spencer. After a fantastic performance where he dizzied opposing offensive tackles with his raw speed off the line, he left with what he came for.
Today, he has turned that offer into a commitment as he becomes the eighth verbal pledge for the Aggies in the 2027 class.
At 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, McCarty emerged on the recruiting scene in greater Houston due to his ability to affect the quarterback thanks to that aforementioned juice off the edge. His first step is elite, and he does a good job of making himself small when turning the corner to limit the target area for blockers. In a word, he’s a slippery pass rusher.
You can view his tape below.
McCarty racked up a bunch of offers, but he eventually whittled his list down to just schools in the state of Texas. The Aggies won out over the Longhorns, Red Raiders, Bears and Cougars.
