
Football
The Aggies earned their second win of the season in the SEC and improved to 5-0 after beating Mississippi State, 31-9, in front of the fifth-largest crowd at Kyle Field.
Both offense and defense showed out as Marcel Reed ended with 210 total yards to go along with two passing and one rushing touchdown. KC Concepcion had both receiving scores for the Aggies as he ended the night with four receptions for 61 yards, and Mario Craver had six catches for 80 yards as well as 35 rushing yards with one touchdown. Lastly, on the offensive side, Rueben Owens II had a career-high night with 142 rushing yards on 21 attempts.
Moving to the defense, Taurean York led with 10 tackles. Daymion Sanford ended with nine tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss, as well as adding his first career interception, and Cashius Howell continued to dominate as he had three sacks in the game for the second time this season.
The Aggies will face their third SEC opponent as the Florida Gators come to Kyle Field this Saturday at 6 p.m. CT.
Men’s Basketball
The Aggie men’s basketball game times and networks were announced as they are slated to play nine games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, 14 games on SEC Network, and eight non-conference games on SEC Network+.
Baseball
Texas A&M baseball secured a 22-7 victory over Sam Houston in an exhibition game Friday night. The Aggies used 17 position players and 11 pitchers in the 12-inning game. The Aggies had 24 hits, seven of which were for extra bases and on the mound, the Aggies struck out 12 batters. Friday, they continue their fall season, taking on TCU here at Blue Bell Park.
Softball
Aggie softball opened their fall ball with a 9-0 win over ULM. Tonight, they are set for a 10-inning game against Baylor and two seven-inning games against McLennan on Thursday and Texas State on Friday to conclude this week.
Volleyball
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla earned back-to-back SEC Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week after the Aggie volleyball team took down South Carolina and Alabama. This marks her third SEC Player of the Week accolade and her seventh Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Tonight is the first time two top-10 volleyball teams will face off in Reed Arena as the No. 9 Aggies take on No. 3 Kentucky, so come out to support them tonight.
Soccer
In the first Lone Star Showdown of the year, Trinity Buchanan shot the game-winning goal in the 68th minute to allow the Aggies to shut out Texas, 1-0. Texas A&M held a 14-9 advantage in shots, 4-1 in corner kicks, and a 7-1 shots-on-goal margin as the Texas goalkeeper made six saves to keep the match close.
After this win, the Aggies traveled to take on Oklahoma and ended in a 0-0 draw. The Aggie goalkeeper Maysen Veronda made four saves to record her second consecutive shutout and the third of her career. Texas A&M soccer now sits at 4-5-4 on the season and will travel to take on LSU on Friday.
Men’s Golf
The No. 16 Texas A&M men's golf team placed third at the Marquette Intercollegiate. Aaron Pounds tied for fourth place, finishing at 3-over 219. It marked his second top-five finish of the season, and he was the tournament's top performer on par 5s, averaging 4.58 strokes.
Women’s Golf
The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team took down New Mexico and New Mexico State to earn eight points to open the NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors, setting up a championship opportunity today versus No. 17 Arizona. They look to win their third tournament title of the season.
