Like Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers, Mike Elko’s squad was playing on the road as a considerable favorite. Penn State was unranked, but the preseason No. 2 Nittany Lions field plenty of top-end talent and have been competitive down to the wire in Big Ten play of late.
