DALLAS — An analysis of Oklahoma’s explosive offense raises a chicken-or-the-egg type of question.

Are the Sooners’ high scores the production of a prolific offense? Or are they a byproduct of facing poor defenses?

It’s a legitimate question as Oklahoma enters the Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M. Yet, there isn’t an easy answer. OU averages more than 500 yards per game to rank 11th in the nation in total offense and 40.2 points per game to rank 12th in scoring.
