This is a matchup in which both sides rarely faced stiff tests during the regular season. In 12 games, the Aggies went against three high-end FBS passers. Alabama’s A.J. McCarron nearly led a fourth-quarter comeback by attacking the A&M secondary deep, but the quarterbacks who did the most damage to the Aggie defense both led spread-based, pass-oriented attacks.
