Diamond Thoughts: Three-run fifth lifts A&M to first victory

After 13 scoreless innings to open the 2013 season, the Aggies got back-to-back-to-back hits to score three runs the fifth in support of starter Daniel Mengden, topping Illinois-Chicago, 4-3 Saturday at Olsen.

COLLEGE STATION - The great thing about baseball is that you get to play almost every day. So after a season-opening 2-0 loss to Illinois-Chicago on Friday night, the 24th-ranked Texas Aggies were very much looking forward to coming back out to the ballpark and to getting that losing taste out of their mouths.
