Mengden leads A&M easily past Rice, 8-3

Daniel Mengden tossed eight strong innings on Saturday night, picking up his third victory in three starts this season. Mikey Reynolds, Krey Bratsen and the bats followed, sending A&M into Sunday on a high note.

HOUSTON — The Texas A&M baseball team met the No. 12 Rice Owls head-on Saturday night in the Astros Foundation Classic at Minute Maid Park. Both teams needed a win desperately after both lost on Friday.

Despite recent sputters in the A&M offense, the Aggies pounded Rice's pitching for an 8–3 victory, to the tune of 11 hits on the night.
