Facing No. 1 North Carolina one day after a win against No. 12 Rice, the Aggies started poorly and had few answers. Aided by a confusingly horrific outing from Rafael Pineda, A&M left Houston with a 1-2 showing.

HOUSTON — The Aggie baseball team entered Sunday's battle with top-ranked North Carolina riding high, fresh off of an 8-3 win over No. 12 Rice the night before.

But this one was essentially over from the word "go," thanks to as disastrous a pitching performance by a starter as you will find.
