OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD IS BACK MY FELLOW AGS! Get your bucket hats on, don't forget your sunscreen, stay hydrated, and be ready for a normal sized track!! Although we love indoor and appreciate any track and field activities regarding our Ags, there's nothing better than a normal 400 meter track, some extra throwing events, an actual 100 meter runway, a 4x100 relay, and some athletes jumping over water! ITS TIME TO TAKE IT OUTSIDE!

Our team usually travels to Arizona, or even some island recently lol, for a spring break meet. However, with an early spring break, our destination is San Antonio, Texas lol! More cactus than palm trees and more construction than waves, but it will do! Anything to compete outside!

Lots of Aggies will be making their season debuts, whether their event is only contested outdoors, redshirting indoors, or injuries holding them out to now. Here's who's making their season debuts: Victor Kibiego, McKenzie Fairchild, Musa Isah, Abigail Martin, Ethan Sanders, Jaydan Wood, Thomas Jackman, Jasmine Harmon, Tyler Lowe, Leaah Burr, and Ana De La Garza!

Events not contested indoors, 100, 100 hurdles, 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles, 4x100, 3000 meter steeplechase, 1500, 10,000, Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin, as well as the Heptathlon for the women and the Decathlon for the men!

Since our Ags competed in nationals last week, don't expect to see a lot of those athletes who competes to make their outdoor debuts this weekend! Understandably they deserve the rest! Additionally, since it is very early in the season, lots of Aggies will be entered in secondary events rather than their primary ones! Distance athletes may jump up or down a distance, sprinters may only do a few events, as well as field event athletes taking shorter approaches on their run ups!

Most notably is Victor Kibiego being listed to run in the 1500, while I'm skeptical he runs, it's beautiful to see his name on the start list! He's a former bronze medalist in the steeplechase but was injured last year at nationals for the Aggies. He didn't run cross country, so we hope he is healed up! Cawthra didn't run cross country and he made history indoors, let's hope the story is similar for Kibiego! Ja'Qualon Scott is scheduled to run the 400 hurdles along with Bryce McCray so that should be fun! The men's 1500 should be a great race, as is the women's 800, and every sprinting event! The women's discus will feature Abigail Martin and Carlie Weiser, and Ethan Sanders on the men's! The competition will be light and the meet will be very laid back! Although, it's outdoor track and field, and it's always fun no matter the venue or competition! It's our favorite athletes in the maroon and white!

For those that followed indoors, we saw that to make the national meet one would have to have a top 16 mark in the country in an individual event and a relay had to be top 12! Outdoors the qualifying standards are much different!

Athletes across the country are split into two regions. The east region and the west region. The Aggies are in the west! They will then compile the top 48 times or marks in every event and those athletes will qualify for a National Preliminary Meet (which the West Meet is in College Station this year!!!!) Then there the top 12 from each region advance to nationals! So the goal is always the same, get a really good mark to qualify for the regional meet! It's a lot different than indoors! Here many more athletes are given an opportunity to get into the national meet! Like indoors I'll keep track of who's on or near that top 48 mark!

Very nice debut and great to see some points in the throws, as we know are few and far between.

Yup, it's a competitive event at nationals, but I hope Sam Hankins is healthy! He's a great javelin thrower! We also have Ethan Sanders in the discus!

On the women's side Abigail Martin scored at nationals last year in the discus! We lose Lianna Davidson who transferred to Georgia, one of the best javelin throwers in the nation! But we also have Katelyn and McKenzie Fairchild

Was fortunate to see all these ladies throw in person last year and they are the real deal. Davison was big loss, any idea why she left ? They giving NIL money for jav throwers at Georgia now ?

I assume so, by the looks of it she loved it here in Aggieland! UGA doesn't even have the history at that event so I guess they went and paid to get the points in the javelin

And our men have a bad last exchange and get DQ'd

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Why did the men's 4x100 get dq'd? How many times have our relay teams get dq'd? It's not rocket science.

Do they practice handoffs?

It says we were out of the zone in exchange 3, probably had trouble with the hand off… too common to not be a concern
