What if you told the team hey you have 8 other field events to score 10 points and you can get second lol

But yeah I understand you! It just sucks to leave a bunch of zeroes on the board. Field event wise we only scored more than 3 other schools, LSU, Kentucky, and Mizzou. It's just scary going into a national meet with just a few bullets and having to hope they all hit!

Injuries to Champ (triple jump), Baker (long jump) and Hankins (javelin) have hurt us but none of them would have been a guarantee to score at the national meet.

I'd like to think Hankins had a great shot to score if he was healthy, but it's just so hard to tell! He's gotten a 5th in 2023 and 9th in 2024! I'd hope he'd improve this year, but it's his second season out to injury. I hope he gives it a go one more year next year.
