Kriish Tyagi is in the semis of a challenger in Bengaluru India. Just defeated ATP #328 Hamish Stewart in the quarterfinals. Outstanding tournament from him after not being in the lineup much this year. His serve and forehand look much bigger than the few times I saw him play this year. All of his matches are available to watch on the ATP website if anyone is interested.

Watching our women's team, it makes me want our men's team to watch that success even more. We certainly have the resources. But I am starting to agree about Denton. Lots of underperforming recently.

On the opposite end is Josh Goffi at South Carolina. He always has the Gamecocks in the final 16 with a much more limited budget. This year they were supposed to be barely top 30 and they were top 16 all year. I think he would do great with our resources. He's still young and has probably reached his ceiling at SCar

For all the talk about Denton, I know for a fact from several people inside both programs that the men don't work a fraction of how the women do. Practices aren't nearly the same intensity. It's beginning to show.

We had a chance to go out and get someone young and fresh, and let Denton retire. Instead we got a round of 32 loss at home. Good call AD Alberts!!

Exactly. On paper for next year we have…

1. Papamalamis
2. Nasridinov
3. Montsi
4. Frusina
5. Mulder
6. Tyagi

And Lathan and Freshman Quattro to help also.

On paper this is a a top 5 team, but I am fully expecting Round of 16 AT BEST.

I'm questioning this guys UTR. There aren't very many impressive wins on his resume, more so in college. Not sure how he was ranked as high as we was

It does seem inflated. He was a .500 player at #1 in the SEC. That UTR would indicate one of the very best in college

That .500 number is deceptive too. The losses are in straight sets to the top players, the wins are against unranked or lowly ranked teams, like Arkansas. This guy might be our #3 or #4 next year.

Denton just signed an extension last year through the 2030 season. They should have forced him to retire, but no, drag it out and let a mediocre coach linger

To be fair, he's not causing waves and the team stays off the radar. He is easy to keep around and doesn't cause problems.

Can you find the UTRs of our current returning players, transfers, and freshmen? We have a stud freshmen coming in too. Frusina could legit be playing #5 or #6 next season without significant improvement

I'm not sure Artnak is an upgrade over Kholo. He has a higher UTR and played higher in the lineup but he seemed to quit on Arizona State and I've heard he didn't get along with coaches and teammates. More interested in pro tournaments.

Maybe new pastures will reignite a fire
