Lots of work to do on the women's side who just got 18th at nationals and lost 3/4 of their 4x100 relay who scored and their two sprinters who scored as well.

There was a lot of in state talent on the women's side we brought in as recruits on visits but failed to land… gotta score in the portal

Wonder what it is? NIL? Age? Poor coaching? I mean, progression has seriously lacked on the women's side for years

It's just been weird, with the limited number of scholarships we were always top heavy and event heavy lacking in multiple areas. Now with NIL and the scholarship expansion we just haven't been able to have a more well rounded team like our other SEC foes. Our men have done a better job of adding depth, but it still seems our women have more deficiencies. Obviously injuries hurt and development plays a factor. There have been some amazing progress and development by some of our top athletes. Even with Bii and Yakushina, we still wouldn't have had enough scoring and depth. We use to always have 400 and 800 runners on the women's side and it's been a struggle there the past two years. Hurts us there, the 4x400, and the DMR indoors. Staying healthy all season long is another issue.

These next few weeks will be huge to see how we respond on the women's side. I really love how our men's team is shaping up, that recruiting class is exceptional, then you add Peter Narumbe, Etoro Bassey, Lawson Jacob's, and the talent we have returning it should be awesome. We just need a little more huge scoring pieces in field events. But the women, there's a lot of work to be done

With the new multi's and some field event prospects, our women seem to be adding depth pieces to round out the team. We just need to replace the sprints and mid distance through the portal

South Carolina seems to be losing a lot to the portal.
