Well after a disappointing performance at the national meet, it's time to turn our attention into rebuilding and reloading our roster for the 2027 season. We've signed a great bunch of high school recruits, especially on the men's side. We signed some great 100-400 runners, and possibly the greatest high school hurdler in history. On the women's side we've signed some great field athletes but haven't signed a single sprinter, which is a concern given that we lose so many. Our targets on the women's side should be sprinters first and foremost, as well as, mid distance runners. On the men's side we will need some throwers and distance help.

I'll keep the first post updated. Portal season is about to explode and we have to swing big if we want to get back to the top of the podium!

And obviously retention

Solovev was listed as a senior after being listed as a freshman last year. So I guess he was only awarded two year of eligibilty. He is 24. Don't know how some internationals can come in at 24 and get 4 years

It's already a done deal who the coach is. Pat was a part of the process of interviewing. Person was notified before the NCAA meet by Trev before the NCAA meet commenced. I won't put the name out out of respect for The LEDGEND himself, the other institution and their athletes who may not know yet or have been informed. So don't ask please. I loved me some Pat Henry and I wish he could've stayed longer to enjoy the upcoming talent acquisitions. What a career!

For those who know my history of posting here(first time this year though), I have always defended Pat Henry. I have been an advocate on these boards when many called for his resignation and firing. I felt expectations were misguided. Since those days only about 4 coaches have won the title and Henry is one of them. The number of times a coach will win, even those who had more talent than us, is rare. I was so saddened listening in the announcement cause I never wanted this ride to end with Henry. He has been a mainstay to A&M, track, the community, and to my life. This man, helped me through the loss of my parents and God allowed his gifting of this man to be brighter days for me over the years. Today, will not be about anything other than Henry for me. I love his perseverance and commitment to the program. I love how he endured trifling coaches around the SEC who tampered and tried to disuade athletes from coming here or scoop athletes who were already here. He survived them, the race-card tactics, their attacks against his health. He is a winner in the true sense of the word. Today is only about Henry - our faithful true ledgend. There's only one retirment for the man and there will be many days ahead for the next phase. So let's just rejoice in the gift GOD gave us in Henry.
