This Friday our home will host the 4th annual Regal Beagle Memorial Beagle Olympics, an intense, winner-take-all competition between 5 dogs (only 3 of whom are actually beagles) of skill, intelligence, and speed.
The contestants, in no particular order, include:
The Border Collie / German Shepherd mix who has wilted under pressure the last two years believing people calling her in a race is her getting yelled at and she won't come.
Beagle #1. Not very bright, but adorable.
The Golden Retriever: Two-time defending champion and alpha dog.
Beagle #2: Much better at running and jumping than 7th grade geometry.
The Grand Dame Beagle: 12 years young and probably going to have to sit out the race due to health conditions. Also thought it was a good idea to eat this box.

4 years old, owner surrender to Brittany Rescue in Texas (BRIT). She's a little reactive, but not too bad. Apparently, bunny rabbits (of which our neighborhood has hundreds) are the Spawn of Satan. On our first walk with here, she absolutely lost her ever-lovin' mind when she say a bunny. It took probably 45 minutes to an hour before she let it go.

The Games of the Fourth Beagle Olympiad have been run, and friends, we're officially living in the era of a dynasty.
The Golden Retriever won her third straight gold medal, earning 2 hot dogs and a busy bone. it was a photo finish, she beat her best friend, Beagle #2, by a single point in the standings, with Beagle #3 taking the bronze.
