Benny & my Grandson are the same age, and I valued her opinions. My prayers go up WITH her, and I cry for Benny and the great loss he will bear. She was a GREAT Mom.

Overwhelmed this morning. I've never dealt with arrangements before. I was told by the hospital this morning that I need to give them the name of a funeral home to take her body to from the morgue. I also need to arrange a local cremation. Looks like crematoriums and funeral homes are mostly the same places. Her siblings will be paying for this, so I'm just getting options for them.

Once I know a time frame for receiving her ashes (she wanted Benny to have them), we're going to take them down to Texas and have some sort of ceremony. Likely something informal/social at a funeral home, but her siblings are also planning/paying for this. I will just be a guest.

Benny and I will be staying in either B/CS or La Grange based on where the service is, and I will pass along the name of the hotel once I know when and where the service will be.

This is truly awful. Rest in peace.

As far as something money-wise for Benny and me. I will gladly accept donations up to the cost of hotel and gas money from Missouri to Texas. I have a paypal that I can post later. Right now I don't know where I'm staying or how much it will cost, but I'm broke, and not having to pay for an unplanned trip to Texas would be incredibly helpful.

As far as something for Benny's future, I don't know what to say. That is incredibly generous. Wow... I will definitely accept anything given. I don't have anything set aside for him. Truth be told, he has struggled badly at school the last two years (suspect all of Tanya's time in the hospital has had something to do with this). I'm hoping Benny will do two years at a community college and then two more at University of Missouri (he can live at home). He could very well go to a trade school though. And nothing against trade school considering what a college education costs these days.
