I'd drive to Bryan and get La Familia. One of my few regrets of my recent B/CS trip is that we had no breakfast tacos. Was going to grab them on my way out of town, but they didn't open until 7, and we left at 6:15.

That just isn't true. There are tons of mom and pop Mexican places for breakfast tacos. They all have an Abuela in the kitchen.

And there are many places in town that serve good food besides a burger or tenders. If that's all you can find you aren't trying.

I wasn't sure if Coco Loco was still open as it has been 10 years since I have been back. I too recommend them based on a ten year old experience.

This thread informed me Coco Loco is still around over by Consol. I loved that place. That green salsa would randomly be apocalypse level spicy one day, and banana pepper mild the next.

I stop at coco loco on welsh by Consol 2 days a week to get breakfast tacos. Huevos, queso, chorizo and green sauce. So good, best in town!!!! You're right, green sauce varies from spicy to nuclear, I love it.
