I am on about 5 years at this house. Previous house was about 7 years. Hell, I don't even own a lawnmower. Jose and Juan do a great job at a reasonable price.
Lawn service is on autopay so I don't usually notice when they change their schedule. There are periods when they come weekly and periods where they go longer between services, but I really have no idea how long they stretch those out too.
I'll generally mow once a week during the growing season, though I will occasionally skip a week.
When I first bought the place, the seller had apparently stopped mowing after he accepted my offer, so it was overgrown. I got a code enforcement warning from the city in the three days between closing and my mower getting delivered.
Two week is the max. That said, I think that I am down to the low single digits left for this year. This weekend, skip two weeks, then twice in October. Then, it's off until mid-March.
"Gimme a diablo sandwhich and a dr. pepper...to go"
I typically cut on 2 week intervals. If I wait 3, it's still easy to cut, but definitely looks long and unkempt. I'll only cut it 2-3 more times this season until it's browned up in early november.
A month and a half this summer. Our lawn mower sheared the crank shaft off in May (yes, the entire crank shaft ). It was in the shop (warranty) for a month and a half. I wasnt going to pay someone to come mow 5 acres.
