Went to brunch at La Bodega with my family and two of my best friends drove up from Missouri City and surprised me. It was a big deal to make 40 because there was a lot of uncertainty that previous year whether I would be around for that birthday.

Don't recall what we did that evening.

My wife gave birth to our daughter (our 2nd) 4 days before my 40th birthday last month. My birthday was the first full day home from the hospital.

I spent it with my family and topped it off by watching A&M take down Notre Dame in one of the most exciting games of the year.

Wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way.

It was a Saturday, so I probably woke up around 7:30, did some grocery shopping, took the dogs out to do their business (RIP Beau and Katy), and prepared for the then-new job that started the following Monday. Probably ordered dinner from DoorDash, may have worked out. Likely got a call from my folks, but other than that I doubt I spoke to anyone other than in passing.

In short, just about how I wanted the day to go.

We had planned to spend it in Greece before we found out my wife was pregnant

Went to Vegas and hurled in the fountains in front of Caesars at 3:30 in the morning

nothing special. just as i prefer every birthday

My hubby took me to Mallorca for almost 2 weeks and then we ended the trip by staying in a magical castle outside of Windsor for 3 days! It was a total dream.

Because of an unfortunate birthday, I did what I often do - watched A&M lose to LSU.

Wife (GF at the time) and I went to Napa for 3 days with 3 other couples. Weekend of great wine, great food, and great friends.

50… had a simple dinner at our favorite hole in the wall with my wife and daughter before going up to the NICU to spend a couple hours just holding my premie newborn.

Both were amazing in different ways.

It won't happen on my birthday, but I am planning a fishing trip to Montana for my 40th.

You could hook up with a 70 year old....you might know of one

My 40th wasn't too special, but my 50th was in Vegas and it was a BLAST. Didn't throw up in any fountains, lol, but it could have easily gone that way!

I am still 6 years from that. Haven't really thought about it.

Nothing because im an adult and birthdays are for children and narcissists.

I figured you would have had a Beltbuster and some steak fingers…maybe even spring for a M&M Blizzard

I complained on the GB that I'd turned 40, and someone told me that 40 was the new 20. Other than that, I did nothing. I had a three year old at the time.

I'm gonna guess you have at one time or another knocked on doors and asked people if they wanted to buy Watchtower or Awake! magazines.

Went to work. Went to gym. Went back to the trailer I was living in while I was looking for a house since I had just switched jobs.

Had a giant ass party in my back yard with catered food and a frozen margarita and daquiri machine. Wife was pregnant so no margaritas for her! Yes, as everything, my fault.

My in-laws hired Princess Diana's private chef to come to my house and cook dinner. They invited my closest friends and we had an amazing five course meal. After dinner was over, the chef came and sat at the table with us and told the most lovely stories about Diana and her sons. He answered most of the questions we asked, some things he said were too private. It was such a great experience because I've always been an Anglophile and obviously I grew up really admiring Diana. One of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever received.

I don't remember.

So I must have had a good time.

Ran the quarter mile in 69 seconds - 20 seconds off my personal best set in high school (and 10 seconds slower than I'd hoped).
That was with zero preparation, except drinking beer and getting older.

2005 - went to the Exumas with 1st wife and my best friend and his current wife. They were filming the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean at the time and we got to party with the stuntmen at K.B.s Chat 'n' Chill on Stocking Island.

Will probably want to spend the night alone after spending all day at work. I'm sure my parents will want to take me to dinner somewhere. Will probably do that.

Not having a wife or kids or much local social anything here puts a damper on things.

Cooked and ate crawfish and enjoyed some cold beverages with friends and family.

We held a party at my brother's place in a rural area. Set up a stage, and paid two Texas Country artists to do a private concert. Had the party catered by my favorite Tex-Mex joint. Had a keg of beer. Joined by family and lots of friends. I started drinking vodka early, and while not hammered, I was not sober.

Pulled my new boat to the Coast in my new truck. It was a good year and great birthday. Hard to believe it was 10 years ago.

I got up at 5:00...napped in my front porch rocking chair...ate dinner at 4:00...and went to bed at 7:30.

'cause that's what elderly people do.

Went to my parents and hung out with my twin sister. Went to Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler, and Spin Dr concert.

Had buddies and their families over for a pool party and watch the ND game.

I just turned 40 last month.

I rented a cabin outside of Healdsburg for mine. For my wife's, we went to Chicago and had dinner at Alinea.

My daughter and I were born on the same day. So, we had a family birthday at a nice beach resort to celebrate my 40th and her 1st birthday.
